Here is an article I read that gives good advise for the new practitioner starting to verify scripts:

Once you graduate you are responsible for keeping up with new drugs. This is difficult to accomplish, especially when new drug classes keep popping up (I'm looking at you diabetes!). The best resource I can promote to new grads is to read Daniel Hussar's monthly newsletter at
http://www.pharmacistactivist.com/
He is a professor at University of the Sciences in Philly, and he teaches the new drug lecture at APhA Annual meeting every year. He came out with a rating system to rank new drugs as they come on the market. This rating system along with his commentary allows you to easily make clinical decisions about new drug therapy and where they fall in drug treatment appropriateness. Sign up for his newsletter and enjoy!

Here is an interesting perspective on the subject of residency. I myself did a community residency after being in practice for 6 years. It is never too late!

Community pharmacist jobs are expected to decrease while other areas will grow. Get involved with networking in your state and local associations to take your career to the next level. Also read this article:

Here's an article written by a recent grad on her advice for APhA's NPN network. Do you have a ten year plan?
