How It Works

Step 1

Register for ILPRO

By selecting REGISTER, you will be taken to the IPhA learning management system (LecturePanda).  You will be asked to fill out information, including your NABP eProfile ID and other information. IMPORTANT: This information must match what is on your IDFPR pharmacist licensing application.  Failure to do so may slow the process.

Step 2

Complete the Online Program

Review all required educational content at your own pace.

Step 3

Successfully Complete Activity Requirements

Complete the required assessment and all program components including the program evaluation.

Step 4

Receive Your Certificate of Completion

Download your Certificate of Completion immediately upon successful completion.  Save this in your paper files as well as digitally.  You may need this document more than once.

Step 5

Special Notice and Guidance from IDFPR:

The new law allows for applicants to complete the ILPRO or any other such program and assessment or test approved by the Department by rule. Presently, IDFPR will continue to accept the Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Exam (MPJE) as a method of examination for licensure pursuant to 68 Ill. Admin. Code 1330.330.

The ILPRO does not require payment of fees to Continental Testing Services (CTS) or specified testing dates.

Applicants who intend on completing the ILPRO instead of the MPJE should contact Continental Testing Services (CTS) at pharmacy@continentaltesting.net. Please provide your full name, last 4 digits of your SSN, your date of birth, and the following statement: I would like to waive the IL MPJE exam.

Please note that this is an unresponsive email, but CTS will be keeping track of this waiver email to help facilitate the exam-licensing process when NAPLEX scores for each applicant are forwarded to IDFPR. We appreciate your patience in the transition and introduction of this new exam method for licensure.

Submit Certificate to IDFPR

Please save a copy of the Certificate of Completion for your records. IDFPR may request that applicants submit their ILPRO Certificate of Completion to verify satisfaction of the pharmacist jurisprudence education requirement or to resolve any outstanding issues associated with their licensure application.

Step 6

Continue the Licensure Process

Complete any remaining IDFPR licensure requirements.

About ILPRO

About ILPRO

The Illinois Pharmacist Readiness and Orientation Program (ILPRO) was developed by the Illinois Pharmacists Association (IPhA) following enactment of HB4154 (Public Act 104-0461).

ILPRO provides a comprehensive review of Illinois pharmacy laws, regulations, standards of practice, pharmacist authority, and professional responsibilities.  The program is designed to help pharmacist applicants understand not only what the law requires, but also how those requirements apply in real-world pharmacy practice.

By emphasizing readiness for practice rather than examination preparation alone, ILPRO helps ensure pharmacist applicants are equipped to provide safe, effective, and compliant patient care from their first day of practice in Illinois.

Why Illinois Transitioned to ILPRO

Illinois has modernized its pharmacist licensure process by transitioning from a traditional jurisprudence examination model to a structured educational program.

This approach promotes:

  • Greater understanding of Illinois pharmacy laws and regulations

  • Enhanced readiness for professional practice

  • Consistent education for all pharmacist applicants

  • Improved awareness of patient safety and compliance requirements

  • Stronger preparation for pharmacist-delivered patient care services

ILPRO reflects Illinois' commitment to ensuring pharmacists enter practice with the knowledge and confidence necessary to serve patients safely and effectively.
