This image (attached) of what may happen in the pharmacy after an Rx is dropped off popped up in my Facebook newsfeed, shared by an old classmate. Let me know what you think!

I remember at one of the more recent APhA Conferences, a prominent theme was about how pharmacy has a marketing problem and that the general public is unaware of how complicated and delicate the process is, between the drop off and the pick of a script. The culture of "fast-food pharmacy" (a term I heard first from Mr. Garth Reynolds, ED of IPhA, when I interned there) is something that I believe needs to be changed, if we are going to be able to impact our patients better and practice to our fullest potential.

I say: share this image with your non-pharmacy friends and have a short discussion about it. Slowly change the brand of the practice within your social circle and hopefully it will trickle outward to their circles. I believe that we can slowly change the "fast food pharmacy" culture.

What do you all think?

It is a good start, but the world of pharmacy is even more complex than this infographic! We do so much more than dispense medicine! You want fries with that HCTZ?
